Welcome back Students!
This school year is going to be a new and exciting one for us all if you but choose to learn. You will be challenged often this year and I hope that you step forward to take the challenges put forth. We will be using technology sources more often this year than many of you have used in the past. You will be expected to participate in many things that might make you nervous or uncomfortable. You will get the support you need, but if you feel you need more ask for help, I'm there if you ask.
I will have after school tutoring on Thursday afternoons. If you come you must be in the classroom by 2:40. Tutoring will last until 3:30. If you come you must work, this is not a socialization time. I am there to help you primarily with things for my class, however, when I can I will be glad to help with other subjects. Please, do not come in the morning and expect me to help you, this is my time, when I prepare for the day. Because this time is available to you, I do not expect students not to turn in work because they didn't understand--you can get help. Eighth graders, I have the same lunch as you, so this is another time you can get assistance. I will make a couple lunch times available each month and give your fair warning about when these study periods will be.
Remember students that it is your choice whether or not you learn. It is your choice whether you have fun or not. You can make this a good year for yourself, if you just try.
